Pixel art is something I never see displayed in my local galleries, and I'm hoping to change that! This was done at my local library, but I hope to work towards larger exhibitions and galleries eventually. Below is my artist statement.
"I create digital artwork using a computer, mouse, and pixels achieved at a low resolution. The inspiration for these pieces stem from locations I have visited and resonate with. I began drawing pixel art in 2016, when I took an interest in animation. Since then, I have evolved my art style to fit the to balance the amount of detail I apply while keeping the subject recognizable in the restricted space. I learned to do this by simplifying techniques I use from creating traditional art including watercolors, acrylic, and pencil/ ink. I strive to encapsulate more memories like this as I visit new places in the future. I hope my art can bring about positive memories whether they are related to the locations I draw or not."
